SECONDARY SCHOOL GIRLS FOOTBALL CLUBS

KS3 & KS4 FOOTBALL CLUBS

Our dedicated Football coaches specialise in Football  skills for KS3 and KS4 aged children, focussing on key physical, social and tactical skills suitable for their Football development, confidence and progression. Our Football After School Clubs are suitable for boys and girls from beginners, to students who have a basic or more in-depth experience of Football.

Play Football Juniors helps develop agility, balance, and coordination through a mix of games, physical activities, and skill-building exercises, over planned, weekly extra-curricular sessions during term-time.

One of the most important things to us is promoting the social side of sport and the sense of belonging to a team. Playing in a team has huge personal, social and emotional benefits and we firmly believe that there is a sport for everyone. If children can have positive experiences of sport during their time at school, they can bring these experiences into their adult lives, continuing to stay active and enjoy taking on new sports and challenges in the future.

OUR KS3 & KS4 GIRLS FOOTBALL COACHES

The date and time of your sessions will be up to you and your school’s requirements. We have local coaches that cover different schools over all days of the school-week, so we will partner you with a coach that works best.

Our coaches will help to strengthen and progress the understanding and skills of KS3 and KS4 aged students, from perfecting new and core skills and tactics, to be able to confidently apply these in-session and matches. Ideal for complete beginners to and experienced footballers.

The core of each session will be planned ahead of each term, giving the coach flexibility to adapt, depending on the progress/ability of the children attending.

AN EXAMPLE FOOTBALL LESSON

To start:
Each session starts off with a little introduction and re-cap, explaining the lesson intention and answering any questions that the children have. The coaches have a large bank of carefully selected warm-up games and activities that they can choose from, so they can mix and match these to suit the lesson intention and the planned activities.

Skill Activities: The skill activities are selected from an approved bank of activities, designed to build a strong foundation in football, whilst having fun! The coach will decide how long to spend on each activity, ensuring that all children are able to understand and perform the skills they are being taught. There are options to change the activity to make it harder for more experienced students, and to make it easier for students who need a bit more help.

To keep the children engaged and having fun, the coach has the flexibility and understanding to change the session format if they feel that the children need a break from one activity, or if they are enjoying one so much they don’t want to stop!

Game Skills: The coaches can choose from a list of selected Game Skills that suit their Learning Intention that day. These are mini-football games, which are designed to use the skills that have been taught, in a fun, interactive format.

Match Play: This is where the children will play their typical football games, officiated by our coach. This is where they can put their skills to the test and practice using them in a game situation! Our coach will always encourage fairness, so each child will have a turn at each position, and have the same amount of game time, no matter their ability.

Cool Down: The coaches will select a cool-down game from our list of choices, and use this opportunity to quiz the children about what they’ve learnt, and talk to them about the next session.
